Faculty Scientific Board
Section 29
The Chair of the Faculty Scientific Board is the Dean, who appoints and dismisses other members of the Scientific Board of the Faculty; the length of the term of office of other members can be set by the internal regulations of the higher education institution or of the faculty.
(2) Members of the Faculty Scientific Board are distinguished representatives in fields in which the faculty carries out teaching and creative activities. At least one third of the members of the Scientific Board must be from outside the academic community of the public higher education institution of which the faculty is a constituent part.
Section 30
(1) The Faculty Scientific Board:
- a) discusses the draft of the strategic plan of the faculty in the areas of teaching and creative activities, elaborated in compliance with the strategic plan of the public higher education institution;
- b) approves the drafts of the degree programmes that are to be offered by the faculty and forwards them via the Rector in order to be approved by the Scientific Board of the public higher education institution;
- c) proposes plans to the Rector to submit requests for accreditations, the extension of accreditations or the extension of the validity of accreditations of degree programmes offered by the faculty;
- d) proposes plans to the Rector to submit requests for the accreditation of habilitation procedures and procedures for the appointment of professors, in the case of procedures being
carried out at the faculty;
- e) exercises its competence in the habilitation process and in the procedures for the appointment of professors as provided for by this Act.
(2) The Faculty Scientific Board particularly expresses its views on matters presented to it by the Dean.
