Conference 2021 – Final report

New trends in health sciences 2021 conference; Quo vadis healthcare system (21 October 2021) final report

Preparatory work on the project started, as planned, after 1 January 2021 and continued throughout the period up until the date of the conference on 21 October 2021 and will continue until the end of 2021 with the printing of the full-text proceedings.

Project deliveries:                                                                     

The sole project outcome was the conference attended by about 250 people. The conference took place in a hybrid format, i.e., online (for about 30 participants) and on site in the UJEP campus (over 200 people).

The conference programme included 11 invited guest speakers and 28 papers submitted by registered experts from 2 countries (Czech Republic, Slovak Republic). Fourteen posters were also presented. An electronic collection of abstracts was created before the conference. Later, full text proceedings will be created, and selected papers will be printed in the Health&Caring journal.

Project benefits for target groups:                                                                   

1. FZS students were the target group of the conference. The conference was a mandatory event for students in predetermined years of studies (each department designated a different year). The conference was the first opportunity for many students to experience how scientific outputs are presented. Presenting the research results can be a good motivation to start their own research.
2. Researchers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The conference was an opportunity for them to present the outcome of their scientific work to the professional community and to establish contacts with colleagues from other workplaces.
3. Czech and Slovak professional community. They benefited from the conference as an educational event and as a means of support for their personal and professional growth. The conference was attended by health professionals from various types of establishments – hospitals, spas, old people’s homes, social care facilities, rehabilitation centres, sanatoriums, organisations providing assistance to the disabled and others.
4. Exhibitors and sponsors. They had an opportunity to present their own products or services. These were very positively received.

Overall evaluation:                                                                  

The conference took place as planned, even if under difficult epidemiological conditions; no irregularities were recorded. The event was received very positively by participants.  Considering the covid situation, some of the lecturers were given an opportunity to present their material online.
