Graduate profile – Physiotherapy
The Physiotherapy study programme prepares students to take up professional roles at specialised medical rehabilitation and pain management workplaces and at spas and hospitals. During their studies, students acquire specialised knowledge and skills required to work as physiotherapists.
A physiotherapist provides preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative and palliative care in the field of physiotherapy, which contributes to the development, restoration and preservation of clients‘ optimal health. Through movement and other physiotherapeutic procedures, physiotherapy specifically works with the functions of other, including mental systems, if they are exposed to any risks due to an ailment, ageing, injury, pain, disability, disease, illness or environmental factors.
The tuition is primarily focused on diagnostics of functional disorders, especially those involving the musculoskeletal system, and the comprehensive treatment thereof through physiotherapy. In addition to thorough coverage of the theory, great emphasis is placed on practical training. The latter takes the form of practical seminars held in dedicated classrooms and work placements and traineeships at specialised workplaces. The intention behind the Physiotherapy study programme is to satisfy the demand in open labour market for healthcare professionals at the regional and national levels and the resultant increase in the quality of care provided in the area of Physiotherapy.
